Despite some revelations by former aides saying that former first lady Melania Trump will be standing by her husband Donald Trump even after his election loss, speculations of a possible split are still in the air. An expert has shared that as the former president faces legal battles in the coming weeks or months, Melania has to act quickly in divorcing him.
Speaking to the Daily Star, brand reputation management expert Eric Schiffer claimed that the former first lady has to act fast and divorce the former president, especially before charges continue to pile up against him. Trump faces a Senate trial after getting impeached by the House in his last week of the presidency following the riots at the Capitol. The House impeached him in a bipartisan vote for “Incitement of Insurrection,” making him the first president to get impeached twice. Schiffer added that any further charges against the now-former president would likely be the last straw for Melania.
“An indictment for Melania will be neither cool or fashionable to her acquired tastes,” said Schiffer. “Charges against the former president of the United States of America will be the final act in her Trumpian saga that triggers a clear and present danger to their union. Melania’s advisers’ calculus will be to move fast because Donald’s divorce will cost Trump over $150 million that in the end, if she doesn’t move quickly, he won’t have the cold cash to pay out.”
Despite growing opposition from Republican Senators to impeach Trump, the Democratic-controlled Senate will push through with the trials, which are set to begin next week. However, Trump also faces other legal battles, such as the investigation led by Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance involving the supposed frauds by the Trump Organization.
Although it remains to be seen whether or not Melania would actually divorce Trump, a body language expert previously shared that there may be a shift in dynamic between the couple as of late. Expert Bruce Durham analyzed footage of the couple and shared that while it may not be surprising that the former first lady would still stick with her husband, Melania’s body language indicated that there may be a shift in power between the couple, especially now that Trump is no longer president after losing to Joe Biden.
