US President Joe Biden is holding a steady record of 60 percent in overall approval ratings, a stark contrast from his predecessor Donald Trump. In the midst of the US celebrating the 4th of July over the weekend, Biden remains with a 60 percent approval record from the public.
A new poll released last week from The Hill/HarrisX showed that Biden has the support of 60 percent registered voters in the US. The current rating is only one percentage point from his rating a month before. The rating is largely due to Biden’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, with seven out of 10 voters or 68 percent saying that they supported.
When it comes to the economy, Biden also ranks high among the public as he holds a 59 percent approval rating. The responders part of the 59 percent said that they approved of Biden’s efforts to manage the economy following a collapse in 2020 under the Trump administration.
When it came to the issue of immigration, Biden also remains above the 50 percent in approval ratings with 53 percent. This is despite constant criticism from Republicans as the Biden administration faces a massive influx of migrants since the inauguration.
To note, the survey was responded to by 950 registered voters with a margin of error of 3.18 percentage points. The results of this survey are similar to those of the survey made by Fox News, also released last week, with Biden having an overall approval rating of 53 percent and widespread support – 64 percent – of his response to the pandemic.
The Fox News survey also showed Biden having an overwhelming amount of support from the Democratic Party, and the approval of one in five Republican respondents, including more than half of Americans registered as independents.
Meanwhile, Biden recently visited Michigan over the weekend to promote the bipartisan infrastructure proposal that he is looking to have Congress pass. Aside from promoting the proposal, Biden also promoted his plans to invest in families, education, and even immigration as he visited a cherry farm.
