While upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision and values this key position is responsible for supporting our physicians and other health care providers with direct and indirect patient care and to ensure a smooth patient work flow. This position includes clerical, administrative and clinical duties on a daily basis. This position will apply knowledge of medical office practice, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. This is an “at will” position.
Job Duties
- Apply knowledge of medical office practice, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures
- Perform common administrative duties including answering telephone calls, greeting patients, approval, correspondence, arranging ancillary services, sending electronic prescriptions to provider for approval, call patients with test results, as well as any other follow up calls/duties
- Lead patients to exam rooms and collect information for the provider, including, chief complaints, vital signs, medicine reconciliation, etc.
- Maintain records and record test results
- Assist with administering/maintaining a variety of treatments, procedures, and medications under the supervision of the medical provider, including injections
- Assist with keeping the patient flow smooth and provider on time with patient appointments
- Use and understand general medical terminology
- Ensure clinic is well stocked with supplies, ordering as needed
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work environment
- Attend classes, training and meetings as scheduled and required
- Other assignments and duties as needs arise

- Constant standing, walking, pushing , pulling, bending and reaching throughout the day, Must be able to lift twenty-five (25) pounds or more on occasion
Experience & Education:
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent
- Prior medical training and experience
- Computer proficient; MS Office, Internet
- CPR Certification
- Experience with an electric medical record (EMR)
